The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic caused over three million deaths and is still going on. One of the interventions adopted to prevent deaths is vaccination. While richer countries have been running mass vaccination campaigns, poor countries have not vaccinated their high-risk groups yet. One of the barriers to equal distribution of vaccines across the world is intellectual property (IP) rights that create monopolies over vaccine production.
