## What is hackerspace?

Hackerspace is a space that hackers get together and hack.
|

## What is hacking?
|
||
|
|
|
||
|
|
It is hard to write a simple definition of something as varied as hacking, but I think what these activities have in common is playfulness, cleverness, and exploration. Thus, hacking means exploring the limits of what is possible, in a spirit of playful cleverness. Activities that display playful cleverness have "hack value".

## What is Hackerspace Istanbul?
|
||

||
|
|
Hackerspace Istanbul **(est. December 2017)** is a workplace to have fun with the technical facilities gathered together by the contributers and a social environment to work together and creating events; for the people, who are interested in computers, electronics, technology, Internet, DIY and such kind of subjects.

## Is the place open?
|

||

Unfortunately, we had to shutdown the place physically on October 2018 due to our financial issues. But we still spend effort to reorganize hs.ist as a physical space under Free Software Association in Turkey.
